Greetings,
Thanks for taking the time to check out my website. I am a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, follower of Christ, husband to Vauneeka Sutton, and father to Lincoln Sutton. I am huge Star Wars and Game of Thrones fanatic and lover of the Miami Hurricanes, Heat, and Dolphins!
My mother; Linda Sutton, is my "shero". I never met a more thoughtful and loving person. She was a public educator for thirty-seven years and her commitment to God, education, and community inspired me to dedicate my life to public service.
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in 2008, and a Masters of Applied Social Science Degree with a concentration in Political Science from FAMU in 2009. In 2010, I moved to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to pursue my dreams of working in public service. While in D.C., I served as the Program Coordinator at Ascend at the Aspen Institute, Legislative Aide at the National Community Action Foundation and as an intern for Congressman David Scott. I moved back to Fort Lauderdale in 2015, where I decided to follow in my mother's footsteps and became an educator at Broward County Public Schools from 2015 to 2020.
In 2020, I along with my wife founded A Gate Called Beautiful Ministry which seeks to connect imperfect people to a perfect God. The ministry's charitable arm, The Sutton Family Foundation, provides students in Fort Lauderdale and Baltimore City with the academic resources they need to become outstanding scholars and productive citizens.
Also, in 2020, I published my first book: A Gate Called Beautiful: How God Transforms Your Pain into Power.
